Back in January 2017, our team at Inition and photographer and film director Roland lane began production for Spatium.

Spatium is a VR art piece which explores an unfathomable world based on Philip Treacy’s work. The experience ‘allows the viewer to explore the structure of one of Treacy’s most famous creations on a scale that escapes the bounds of the physical’ (Inition).

The piece received a fantastic reception on its debut at SXSW festival in Austin Texas. It was mentioned in USA Today, Vanity Fair and The Drum among others. It was a fantastic piece of work to be involved in, both as 3D artist and as co-VR creative director. Being such an abstract world, it was important that it unfolded cohesively. We paid extra detail to the design of the interactions to make sure that people could follow the experience no mater what their level of experience with Virtual Reality in the past.

We recently debuted Spatium again for it’s UK launch in the Mailbox, with improved user experience and design. Again, the reception was fantastic and Spatium hit it off with the crowds in the home to high end retailers just as much if not more than at SXSW.

You can read more about the project on the Inition website.
